Next Step Strategies, Inc (NSS) was founded by Ann Wilkinson, PhD. As a behavior consult for 40 years, Ann saw the need to create an agency that can implement positive behavior supports to help individuals gain independence. Next Step Strategies, Inc (NSS) is a non-profit social service agency focused on providing individualized care to clients who experience disabilities. Next Step Strategies focuses on individualized support based on current needs implemented through positive support plans to allow each person to thrive in their life at their highest level of independence. Next Step Strategies was created to support her vision of alternative independent housing for people who experience disabilities. A place where sensory and social needs can be met in the form of an intentional community with natural supports built in.
WHAT WE DO:
Next Step Strategies focuses on the use of Person Centered Planning to individualize care for every person served. We aim to support individuals to live their most full and independent lives. Specializing in Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who provide one to one support for clients to meet their goals. Examples include budgeting, grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking, and accessing the community in meaningful ways.
